It’s bad in Detroit for sports right now. Even as I write this article, the Pistons are trailing the lowly Bucks 51-34 at halftime, and I got sheets riding on the Stones. 🙄

Things need to change. We’re living in a sea of mediocrity. A wagon circling right around .500. Lions: 9-7, Wings: 22-24-10, Pistons: 26-29, Tigers: 86-75.

It’s not exciting. It’s not fun. And it definitely doesn’t make for great content. You think I want to sit here night after night and try and find glimmers of hope for the Red Wings future when you and I both know we’re fucked beyond belief? We have Jonathan Ericsson and Johan Franzen signed through 2020. There’s no hope.

That’s why I’ve decided it is on me and every employee (lol) of Champagne Athletics to bring a winning attitude back to the city that witnessed SIX finals appearances from 2000-2010 (Wings- 02, 08, 09, Pistons- 04, 05, Tigers- 06) and three championships.

So check out the site, it’s got more shit going on and it’s overall just a higher functioning website. Okay? I did this for you. For Detroit. Cause I want to pop Champagne for something other than another over-hyped, over-dressed New Years before the year 2035.  🍾
