I can’t take credit for this idea (shoutout to the good guys at Bowline Financial for that), but I can take credit for making the playlist and putting it on Spotify available to the public. I also want to give Reddit a big shoutout for helping me put this together, while I believe I had the majority of the songs in my brain, some had escaped me, or finding the actual song title/artist was going to be damn near impossible.

It’s amazing what winning does. It makes everything rock, no pun intended. But seriously some of the songs on this playlist are hot trash, and I would never listen to them, but because the boys made the playoffs 25 years in a row, I’ll bump the living shit out of The Launch by DJ Jean and love every minute of it as I picture Kris Draper lining up for a draw agains the Blues in the second round out of a TV timeout.

The Joe was a pit. A barn. Probably a shithole. But we did so much god damn winning there we loved it, and we’ll always love it. At the Joe in between periods guys would go to the bathroom and swash their piss together as some 52 year old season ticket holder splashed a horseshoe lipper in said swashed piss. Your feet would stick to the ground and everything smelled like urine and peanuts. The concourse was the size of a broom closet and the stairs were steep enough to kill anyone with a bum ticker. But we were 20 games over 500 so no one gave a fuck. Everything rocked, including and especially the music, which you now have at your disposal. I think this list is pretty thorough but I am sure I missed some, don’t be afraid to DM me what I missed.

Throw it on during the holidays when you have family over. Grab a case of Molson XXX and play the body on grandma, drops the mitts with that uncle who got a little too handsy 15 years ago, start a ‘Let’s Go Red Wings’ chant in the middle of prayer. Who gives a fuck. It’s Christmas, you’re shitfaced on XXX’s and Raise A Little Hell is blasting at max volume. It’s 2019, Stevie’s back, and soon the boys will be too.
