Champagne Selection Sunday: WILD CARD WEEKEND IS HERE (PART ONE)

Last Updated: January 9, 2021By

Well here we are gang, I took two weeks off this dreaded article because the Lions were toast, my picks were destroying my monthly budget AND I was in full pout mode due to losing TWO fantasy leagues IN THE SEMI’S that I finished the season #1 overall in points. It was a hellish nightmare the way I ended my NFL regular season. But as I always say in relation to our Lions, it’s not about what happened yesterday, it’s about moving #forward.

That’s what we’re going to do this weekend. It’s Wild Card Weekend which is arguably the best weekend for professional football. Six games in every football time slot today and tomorrow, I can’t wait. In addition all my picks here are 110% correct so hop on board and let’s pay down that Christmas debt.

BILLS -6.5 vs Colts, 1:10pm EST: The Buffalo Bills are arguably the hottest team in football right now and just won the AFC East for the first time since 1995. They are JUICED. Lately, they have been steamrolling everyone in their path and the scariest part of it all- they are having a ton of fun doing it. Look at these guys.

If you listen to The Fizz, you know that my partner Jehuu Caulcrick is a Buffalo native and a former Bills RB. He has me so in-tune and juiced up for the Bills Mafia this playoffs there is no way I’m picking against them today. Buffalo is allowing 6,700 in stadium today, which is at least something, but man, I would absolutely love to see that place with 70k+ packed with standing, shit-faced, Buffalo fans after breaking 20,000 folding tables in the parking lot. My buddy texted me and said 88% of the public money is on the Bills, which is usually a bad sign for the public, but fuck Vegas and fuck the numbers Colts don’t stand a chance today. Final: Bills 34, Colts 17.

PS- this tune slaps.

RAMS +3 @ Seahawks, 4:45pm EST: It’s really not like me to ever bet against Russy, especially at home in the playoffs. But for some reason I’ve had this sick sick love affair with the Rams this year, who have visually been one of the most inconsistent teams in 2020. Sometimes they look like a dark horse Super Bowl contender (which I’ve said before) and sometimes I wonder how they even made it to the playoffs. We still don’t know for sure if Goff is starting for the Rams today, but when it comes to my pick on this game, that doesn’t matter. The Rams defense in the final week for the season gave up 7 in the first quarter to Arizona, then that was it. LA’s defense is who I’m looking to to pull out this divisional road victory, yes victory. Goff hasn’t been a world beater this year and I don’t think it matters if it’s him or Wolford under center today for the Rams as much as it matters that their D shows up. Final: Rams 23, Seahawks 21.

THE FOOTBALL TEAM +8.5 vs Buccaneers, 8:25pm EST:  Before we get going on this pick, the Comeback Player of the Year award needs to be named after Alex Smith. The fact that he was even able ever suit up in another NFL game after American Horror Storying his leg back in November of 2018 is absolutely insane and I commend the living shit out of him and his family for the fight he had to go through to ever play football again. And now here he is, a division champion, playing on Wild Card Weekend vs Brady and the Bucs. Now sure the NFC East was an absolute joke this year, but once you punch your ticket, anything can happen in the NFL. Washington’s defense can be suffocating, Chase Young is absolutely a generational talent on D, and Ron Rivera is one of the best coaches in the NFL…oh, and they’re at home. Mike Evans is banged up and the Bucs have not exactly been the model of consistency this year. I think the Bucs are able to win this game, but Washington keeps it close, respectable, and maybe even a little scary for the boys in pewter. Final: Buccaneers 26, The Football Team: 20

Time to cash in today team, I’ll be back tomorrow morning for Sunday’s picks. Good luck and god speed today. 🤝
