For those unaware, that’s Mike Milbury. He sits center stage on NBC Sports Network’s pregame show before Wednesday Night Rivalry, which is what NBC Sports calls their coverage of the NHL on Wednesday nights. I have never been a fan of this guy. I always felt like he thought his word was law, thought his shit was hot, and was too quick to put down opposing opinions, but now… I just think he’s a complete pile of shit.

Here’s the thing about making fun of/down right bashing the Joe- I’ve done it a lot. I’ve called it a barn, a dump, and I have made endless comments about the over whelming presence of the piss troughs in the men’s bathrooms. But the thing about the Joe is, it’s kind of like your little brother or the odd man out in your group of friends. You can make fun of the them on a daily basis, relentlessly put them down, and shit all over their hopes and dreams whenever you want, but the second you hear someone outside of your crew talking shit about your red headed stepchild of the group- you kill them. You kill them swiftly and mercilessly.

It’s fine when I make fun of him, he’s my friend, and this is how we operate and he knows I’d take a bullet for him. But for you, you random outsider piece of shit who knows nothing about him, you don’t get to say shit, you’re only allowed to eat shit.

And, when you go on National TV and proclaim to thousands and thousands of viewers that the home of the most successful American hockey franchise in professional history is a DUMP, you’re going to get some backlash.

In addition to Meek Mil(bury) popping off at the mouth about how shitty the Joe is, he went on to say how the future of the Wings season is bleak, that they should tank and completely overhaul for a rebuild, PLUS he added on that if he were Henrik Zetterberg (LOL), he would request a trade to get out of Detroit because there is no point in staying there.

In order to understand WHY these comments made by fuck boi are so ridiculous, you have to know his background.

Mike Milbury played 12 seasons as a defenseman in the NHL, all for the Boston Bruins- he has never won a Stanley Cup. He played in two finals, but lost both. So I understand his saltiness, the Joe has seen SIX Stanley Cup finals, and hosted FOUR Stanley Cup winning teams, coupled with a 25-year playoff streak.

He was hired as head coach of Boston College- but quit before the season started because of “philosophical differences.”

He was hired as head coach of the Boston Bruins. Where he actually saw some success, winning the President’s Trophy and making it to the Cup Finals in 1990- where he lost again (4-1).

From there he went on to become the head coach/GM of the New York Islanders…this quote is straight off of the first paragraph of his Wikipedia page:

“His work as General Manager with the Islanders has since become regarded as some of the worst in NHL history”

I won’t go into detail, but if you are really curious to how dog shit this guy was, you can peep his Wikipedia or check out this link:  Top 10 Worst Mike Milbury Trades, Contracts, and Transactions. Essentially, since this is a Detroit based site, he was the Matt Millen of NHL GM’s.

So when this pile of fuck is sitting on TV bitching that the Wings should overhaul their roster and Zetterberg should demand a trade, it’s hard for me to agree with that logic strictly based on this gluttonous-pig-hot-pile-of-garbage’s track record.

On air he said “I played my whole career for one team and I wish at the end I went somewhere else.” Yeah Mike, cause your 200 penalty minutes and 24 points in the early 80’s made you such a hot trade commodity. You know what else, Mike? A lot of Red Wings have played their entire careers in Detroit, and it works out decently okay I’d say. Shoot a text over to Steve Yzerman, Nick Lidstrom, Pavel Datsyuk, Tomas Holmstrom or Alex Delvecchio and ask how it worked out for them.

I genuinely believe Zetterberg loves Hockeytown. And yes, he said he doesn’t care about the streak, he only cares about championships. Which you, Mike Milbury, interpreted as he just wants a championship anyway he can get it. Maybe Z meant he wants a championship in Detroit, with the team/city that drafted him, made him an all-star, a Stanley Cup champion, and our captain. Maybe he doesn’t want to last second bolt from the Wings to go get his, maybe he wants it IN DETROIT. Ever think of that, MIKE?

And team, I am not alone. Google Mike Milbury, you’ll get some interesting results.

Sure, I tossed “loser” on the end of the search but look at those results. And based on my research I’m making the prediction right now that he will not come back next year and work at NBC. And my reasoning doesn’t solely stand on the fact that he sucks and everybody knows it, it’s because Keith Jones sits right next to him and looks eerily similar to Mike Milbury, but is actually bearable to listen to. They will keep Keith and replace Mike with someone younger and cooler, because right now it’s two older similar-looking piles tossing turds at each other, and one of those piles stinks like shit.

Fuck you Mike Milbury.

Wings: 6. Bruins: 5.
