Steve Yzerman Is Coming Back To Detroit, Like I Told The Entire World 24 Hours Prior
I’m shaking with excitement. I’m too juiced to think straight. My childhood hero and all time favorite athlete is returning to my all time favorite city to coach the greatest American hockey franchise in all of the world.
Steve Yzerman is coming back to Detroit.
And if you don’t believe me, here is a credible news source saying it-
The Detroit Red Wings will introduce Steve Yzerman as their new general manager this afternoon, a source confirmed to MLive.
Ken Holland, the club’s GM since 1997, will remain as the team’s senior vice president.
Am I completely out of my mind excited? Yes. Am I completely out of my mind surprised? Fuck no. Yesterday at approximately this same exact time 24 hours ago, I told the entire world there was zero doubt in my mind that Steve Yzerman would be coming back to Detroit. Listen.
In all of four minutes I tell you it’s actually kind of fucked up to think he wouldn’t return to the city in which is hockey legacy was built. I foretell my loyal following that Stevie would be back to lead us to our 12th Stanley Cup. And if you didn’t listen to the clip above, just take a look at what I posted yesterday.
Always trust 19 to come back and do the right thing for Detroit, and the Red Wings. Guys- life is good. Stevie’s coming back. Presser at 3pm today to learn more. I’m wearing my Yzerman jersey to work today. More to come later. #lgrw 🍾
