Champagne Selection Sunday Week 12: The Bad Man Is Gone, Denver Has No QB’s & We Are Cashing In

Last Updated: November 29, 2020By

The Bad Fat Man is gone. He can’t hurt us anymore. After just a little over 2.5 years the horrific Matt Patricia era has finally come to an end. I can say with confidence that Matt Patricia was my most hated Detroit-sports figure in my history of Detroit sports. I will dive into this at nauseam soon but this article is not about transactional personnel moves that occurred yesterday, it’s about financial transactional moves that are going to happen today. I will take the time to dive into the Matt Patricia and Bob Quinn firings, but today, I’m trying to win you guys lunch money, so let’s get right into it.

MINNESOTA -3 vs Carolina, 1:05pm: The Lions made Carolina look like the class of the NFL last week by getting shut out and barely getting into the red zone. Carolina did this at home starting an Ex-XFL quarterback. Carolina is decent, but no where near this good. They get Teddy Two-Gloves back this week but Minnesota will come to play after getting embarrassed last week by the lowly Cowboys. The Vikings are extremely streaking and they bounce back this week. Dalvin runs all over Carolina. Final: Minnesota 27, Carolina 20.

TENNESSEE +3 at Indianapolis, 1:05pm: I keep saying this and they keep proving me wrong, but I still don’t believe Indianapolis is as good as the NFL-world is giving them credit for. Even last week, Green Bay absolutely blew that game. Valdez-Scantling fumbling in overtime was unforgivable. If he isn’t carrying the ball like a loaf of bread Rodgers is marching them to downtown touchdown town for the W. Tennessee is tough and Vrabel will have a game plan prepared to move the ball on this stingy defense. The Titans got embarrassed at home by the Colts a couple of weeks ago, that won’t happen again. Final: Tennessee 26, Indy 24

LA RAMS -5.5 vs San Francisco, 4:10pm: The Rams are hot. No doubt about it. They completely controlled last week’s primetime showdown vs Brady and the Bucs. McVay seems to have his offense cooking once again and I believe the Rams are a Super Bowl dark horse contender. The Niners are still without Jimmy G and Kittle, the Rams are coming off of wins vs Seattle and Tampa. They are surging right now and continue the surge with a comfortable win vs a division rival at home. Final: Rams 34, Niners 17

Teaser of the Week: (7.5 point)

Did you really think we would get through this entire article and I wouldn’t mention that the New Orleans Saints are playing against a lowly Denver Bronco team that is missing ALL of their quarterbacks? If you did, you’re nuts. When I found out all the Bronco signal callers were out for this one I rushed to my betting app and tried to lock in the Saints before the line moved, but alas, I was too late. The line went from -6 to -16.5 in my app. Let’s tease this down to 9 and pair it with a Miami Dolphins straight win against the bottom dweller Jets. NEW ORLEANS -9 with MIAMI +0.5.

The Lions already embarrassed us this week so this one is a shorter one. If you want to read about my thoughts on the Thanksgiving Game, click here. I lambasted the team and got decently close to predicting the actual score.

Make sure to tune into The Fizz this week to listen to former NFL running back, Jehuu Caulcrick, and I discuss the Lions latest firings.

Good luck today team. 🤝
